Resolution to Approve the Minutes of the Finance Committee held on the 26th March 2007:
The minutes were agreed as acceptable, proposed by Cllr Johnson, agreed and signed.
Actions Following the Last Meeting:
The Clerk reported that she had not contacted the Society of Local Council Clerks regarding pensions and this matter has now come to a standstill, she has also kept a close eye on her hours, sent letters to James Hargreaves Hall at Morcombelake and Wootton Fitzpaine Village Hall regarding grants and finally she reported that the notice board at Fishpond was reported s damage and has now been mended and in place.
Discussing the Purchase of a 'Trembler Device' for the Local Area:
Councillor Johnson reported that Dorset Police are asking Parish Councils to donate a small amount of money towards purchasing these devices and they will then be shared around the areas who are being targeted by burglary at any time. It was proposed by Cllr Tubb, seconded by Cllr Creed-Castle, all agreed to give a £50 donation towards the devices.
Cllr Johnson also reported that following meetings regarding Homewatch, it may be that Homewatch signs need to be purchased for the area at £25 each. It was reported that Homewatch signs/stickers in peoples houses drops the burglary rates by 23%. It was agreed to put these matters on the next Parish Council agenda. It was also agreed that the Clerk contact Shiela Chambers the Morcombelake Homewatch co-ordinator to see if she covers the Stanton St Gabriel area. Action: Clerk
Discussing the Quotation and Grants for the Wootton Fitzpaine War Memorial Clock:
It was agreed to place this on the next Parish Council agenda as Cllr Snook did not attend the meeting to report on these matters: Action: Clerk
Discussing a Grant for Credit Union:
It was unanimously agreed that the Parish Council would not give a donation to this organisation at this present time. It was agreed that the Clerk inform them of this and ask other Clerks in the area if they received requests like this one too. Action: Clerk
Resolution to Set the Budget for 2008/2009:
The Clerk and all Councillors went through the figures and it was agreed to ask the District Council for a Precept in 2008/2009 at £15,000. These figures will be put to the full Parish Council at the November 2007 meeting.
Resolution to Approve a Cheque for £929.97 for
Connecting Dorset Computer Equipment:
This was unanimously agreed and a cheque signed.
