1712 Chairmans Closing Remarks:
Cllr Fortescue reported on what matters the Parish Council are hard at work dealing with; actions on the action plan; rights of way matters; supporting the Bopper Bus; village hall maintenance packages; working with Cllr Brierley to get a SID; Char Chat publications. She reported that she had worked as a Councillor for 8 years, welcomed the new Council and wished them all well in the future.
1713 Election of Chairman and Signing of Acceptance of Office:
It was unanimously agreed to elect Cllr Johnson as Chairman. The Acceptance of Office was then signed.
1714 Election of Vice Chairman:
Due to no interest at the moment this item will be carried over to the June 2007 meeting.

1718 Resolution to Approve the Parish Council Minutes held on the 16th April 2007:

1719 Actions Following Last Meeting:
The Clerk reported that she had written to West Dorset District Council regarding hedgerow removal, empty houses document and highway matters, written to DAPTC and West Dorset District Council regarding elections and co-options, written to Connect regarding highway matters written to Oliver Letwin regarding the proposed crossing on the A35 at Morcombelake.
1720 Meeting Suspended for Public Discussion Period:
The meeting was suspended for the public discussion period. Mr Newman reported that the hole in the road outside Little Manscombe had still not been filled in. The Clerk has reported this but will do so again urgently. Mr Chambers asked if there was a new seat outside the Ship Inn at Morcombelake. Cllr Diment reported that Mr Groombridge has repaired it and asked if the Clerk could send a letter to the Womens Institute asking if they were going to take full responsibility of it. Action: Clerk

The meeting was re-opened. There were no planning applicants presentations.

Highgate, Pound Lane, Wootton Fitzpaine: Cllr Sage and Cllr Snook looked at this application to alter the roof line and fenestration to existing domestic outbuilding. They could see no objections to this application, Cllr Sage proposed to recommend approval, seconded by Cllr Snook, all agreed.
Any Late Applications:
Cllr Bailey reported that there is an application in for Hinkhams Farm, Whitchurch Canonicorum. It was unanimously agreed that she arrange a site meeting with other local Councillors and send in the comments to the Clerk before the next meeting.

1723 Reports:
Cllr Robinson introduced himself and gave the Parish Council his e-mail address and telephone number. He has nothing to report at the moment due to being in the post just over a week. Cllr Brierley congratulated Cllr Johnson on becoming Chairman and welcomed the new Council. He reported that he is the Chairman of the highways cabinet and deals with all aspects of highway matters and if the Parish Council have any problems please either report matters to the Clerk or contact him and he will deal with matters from the top. He reported that the SIDS matter has come to a stop and asked that the Clerk contact Lyme Regis Town Council to talk about the next step. He also reported that he deals with highway inspections in September and asked that the Parish Council chose their representatives to go around the area, it was agreed to place this on the June 2007 agenda.
Cllr Everidge reported on matters from the Rights of Way Officer John Bridle. The Napoli is being welded by divers and the next step of sinking or salvage will be looked into. Medical equipment was washed up at Stanton St Gabriel but this has now been cleared up. The Stanton St Gabriel footpath has now been officially extinguished.
Cllr Creed-Castle asked Cllr Brierley if the SID could be put in her area and the Cllr Brierley explained how it would work, weekly sites within the parishes. Cllr Diment reported that the A35 from the Ship Inn, Morcombelake to the Bathouse near Berne Lane, Charmouth will be resurfaced. Work will take place between 29th May and 31st July 2007 from 7pm to 8am, working with convoy system.
Cllr Sage reported that the salt bin near his property has not been filled up. Cllr Johnson asked that he move it onto his property until the autumn/winter to save it being stolen.
Cllr Bailey reported on the Whitchurch Canonicorum Parish Meeting which was held on the 23rd April and attended by three Councillors and three members of the public. Matters discussed were the Well House repairs, affordable housing, village hall fundraising and works, footpath map to be reinstated in the village hall and the conservation area. It was also agreed that Cllr Bailey get the inspection book from Paul and Sally White.
Cllr Bailey reported that Melanie and Dale Wright will carry out the village hall playground inspections as long as no come back on them if anything goes wrong, so it was agreed that the Clerk look into this matter.
Cllr Bailey also reported that tubs had been placed in the playground by the playgroup without consulting with the gardener/caretaker, it was agreed that the Clerk contact the playgroup.
Finally the Clerk was asked to write to the Police regarding cars parking on the highway at the junction of Crooked Lane and near Ivy Cottage, Morcombelake.
Cllr Bailey reported that the County Council had been ditch/drain clearing in the area and putting the soil up high near drains for it to be washed back into the drains again Cllr Mansbridge reported that the signpost at Whitegates on the Crewkerne Road does not say 'to Wootton Fitzpaine'.
Cllr Everidge reported a Robin Reliant near Greenacres, Ship Knapp, Morcombelake. It was agreed that the Clerk report this on to West Dorset District Council. Action: Clerk & Cllr Bailey 1724 Finance:
Clerks Report/General Matters to Note:
The Clerk reported that the VAT Refund had been received and also the money for the insurance claim on the stolen salt bins. She informed the new Councillors that if they needed to be reimbursed for items such as stamps to keep the receipt and money can be given back to them through petty cash. She also asked for the Councillors to write down their names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for her information. She also asked that the Councillors fill in the Register of Interests form and sent back to her as soon as possible. She also reported that training for new Councillors is available and names and dates will be put forward for the new Councillors to attend. Finally she asked if Councillors local to their notice boards would be willing to place notices on them for her, and they agreed. Resolution to Approve Audited Accounts:
The Clerk reported that Simon Christopher had carried out the internal audit and found everything to be correct and now ready for the external audit. Proposed by Cllr Bailey, seconded by Cllr Diment, all agreed.
Resolution for Councillors to Sign Cheques:
The Clerk reported that the only signatory is Cllr Johnson and three more Councillors are needed to sign, preferably Councillors with Lloyds TSB accounts. It was unanimously agreed that the signatories for the account are, Cllr Johnson, Cllr Tubb, Cllr Parr and Cllr Creed-Castle.
